Cowboy Contractors.

Once again we have heard of a suspect contractor cold calling on one our members.

An elderly lady on the Gates estate was quoted £800.00 for removing moss from the roof tiles, which was of course essential work ! Her son later tried to telephone the contractor on the number she was given, only to find that the number did not exist.

Please keep an eye on elderly and other vulnerable neighbours.

Our advice remains the same:- If you need any work to be done, ask your friends and neighbours for the names of workmen they would recommend. There are local tradesmen who would be pleased give you a quote, and you know where they live.
