Garden Prowler.

At approximately 8.00am this morning (Monday 29th June), a man was seen in the rear garden of a house on Queensgate Drive, looking through the kitchen window.
It is believed he accessed the garden from the railway at the rear and left the same way.
If you see anyone in your rear garden, in obviously suspicious circumstances, you should ring the police using 999 immediately.

 

Research shows 79% reduction in crime in Watch areas

Recent research shows that in the UK Neighbourhood Watch schemes were effective in reducing crime in 79% of cases when compared with similar areas where no schemes existed.

With encouraging results on the effectiveness of NHW in reducing crime, this paper now proposes that future research should focus on other aspects of NHW that the public value.
