Telephone Scam - Warning.

One of our members has reported receiving a telephone call supposedly from BT asking for a fee of £6.00 to change the line to 'digital'. The fee to be paid immediately by quoting their bank card details or the line will be cut off without notice.
THIS IS A SCAM.
If you receive any calls of this nature, report them immediately to your communications provider (the number is at the top of your phone bill).

Delivery of Telephone Directories

The police have been informed that the Yellow Pages Telephone Directories are due to be delivered over a two – three week period commencing 20th October 2009. Obviously these directories if left on doorsteps when people are on holiday or away for the day, give valuable information for the opportunist criminals.

If you can make your members aware, so that they can make arrangements for the directories to be taken in or to be placed out of sight, it will be most helpful please.
