Suspicious Vehicle

We have been asked by the local beat officer to circulate the following information:-

A suspicious vehicle has been seen driving slowly around Mountsorrel, looking up driveways etc.  Skoda Octavia, registration  0Y56XXG.

Burglary – Curzon Avenue (2nd)

Between midnight and 11.55am on Sunday 10th December a house on Curzon Avenue ( in the straight section between the junctions with Roman Road and Clarke Grove) was burgled.  At present the only thing known to be missing is a set of car keys.

Burglary – Curzon Avenue

At 10.15pm on Monday 4th December a property in Curzon Avenue (close to the junction with School Lane) was burgled.  The intruders were two males and access was by forcing a bathroom window at the side of the house.  During the burglary, the two occupants of the house were assaulted but thankfully not seriously injured.  Items stolen included cash and jewellery.  This incident is being linked to other similar incidents across the county and investigations are ongoing.

Burglary – Loughborough Road

On Saturday 25th November, between 7.00am and 12.00 midnight, a house on Loughborough Road (close to Red Hill Circle) was broken into.  Entry was by smashing the glass in a rear patio door.  Details of items stolen are not known at this time.

Burglary – Houghton Way

Between 9.30am and 5.30pm on Thursday 23rd November a house on Houghton Way was broken into.  Entry was by smashing a glass panel in the rear door and then using a key, left in the lock, to open the door.  Items of jewellery were stolen.

Birstall Burglary

On Monday 13th November between 6.20pm and 6.30pm, a house on Birstall Meadow Road (close to the Hallam Fields Road roundabout) was broken into.  Entry was by smashing a rear patio door and cash and jewellery was taken.

Found – keys

A keyring and key has been handed into the Watch.  It was found on the Meadow Lane playing field and has what appears to be a front door key attached.  Also attached is a socket that I believe is used for earphones.

Birstall Burglaries

On Friday 27th October between 5.30pm and 8.45pm, a house in Oakfield Avenue (close to the junction with Fielding Road) was broken into.  Entry was via a rear upstairs window and exit via a Kitchen window.  Cash and jewellery was stolen.  CCTV from a neighbouring property shows four males involved, all wearing dark clothing.  They were using a dark coloured car which is believed to have been used in other burglaries across the county.

On Tuesday 31st October between 2.30pm and 7.30pm, a house in Birstall Meadow Road was broken into.  Entry was by smashing a rear patio door but nothing appears to have been stolen.  There are no witnesses or suspects at this time.
