Brexit Scam

Scammers are already in on the act by exploiting worried investors following the referendum result.
In the past weeks, there has been a flood of emails aimed at those worried about Britain’s exit from the European Union and the effect on the economy. They are deliberately targeting people known to be concerned about Brexit by monitoring social media, IP addresses and public contact information.
Their emails have a headline something like: Brexit Causes Historic Market Drop. They offer a way to protect your savings from losses due to stock market changes and currency fluctuations.
They invite you to click on a link or open an attachment to get more details. This will advise you to transfer your money into one of their ‘protected’ accounts but, if you do, it will be the last you ever see of it!
Alternatively, the link will download viruses, adware and spyware. This allows them to bombard you with unwanted advertising,  damage your files irreversibly and collect private data that can be used to steal your identity.
Never click on these links and simply delete such emails from your devices immediately.
Do not be fooled or panicked by such messages and never make any financial decisions on the basis of unsolicited information or, so called, advice.
