Burglary in Birstall

Officers are appealing for witnesses following a burglary in Birstall.
The incident took place at around 2.30am on Saturday July 6, at a house in the Fielding Road area of Birstall.
The occupants of the house were in bed asleep when they awoke to find a man in the room who promptly fled.
The victims soon discovered that property had been taken including an 18ct gold Raymond Weil watch with black roman numerals set on a white face with inset clear stones.
Also taken was an antique gold ring set with a diamond cluster. The ring has immense sentimental value, having belonged to the victim’s late mother.
Detective Constable Anna Burton, the investigating officer, said: “The occupants of the house have been left shocked by the incident and saddened by the loss of their belongings.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have been offered for sale items matching these descriptions to contact us.
