Telephone scam - Warning.
We have been notified by the police at Loughborough of the following telephone scams.
(a) A telephone call is received to say that you have won a holiday ( or other expensive prize ) and you must claim within a limited time by calling a number beginning 09 ............ .
Once the call is made, you cannot cut it off until a set time has elapsed and the cost is between £100 - £200.
(b) A similar call is received and you are asked to ring a number beginning 0709 ............ .
The cost of this call is £50.00 per minute.
In both cases there is no prize regardless of what you do.

Shed / Garage Break-ins.
Over the weekend of 20/21st November at least five sheds or garages were broken into. These were in :- Lambourne Road (1), Allington Drive (2), Ashmead Crescent (2).
Sheds tend not to be used during the winter months, make sure you check yours regularly. Report any break-in, whether or not anything is missing.
House Burglary
A house burglary took place on Monday 22nd November in Harrowgate Drive (central area). This is the home of an elderly lady who had left the door unlocked because she was expecting visitors.
Everyone is reminded not to leave external doors (front or rear) unlocked unless you are remaining in that part of the house, ie. Kitchen.
