Dolphin Tyres Burglar Jailed
A burglar who forced his way through the front shutters of Dolphin Tyres in Birstall, and made off with two miniature motorbikes, car tyres and a chair has been jailed.
Dominic O'Neill, of Peake Road, Northfields, Leicester, admitted carrying out the burglary on December 17, and claimed he had been drinking when his uncle "led him astray".
The police caught 25-year-old O'Neill with the goods in a van two-and-a-half miles away.
The defendant's uncle has already been dealt with by a court and received a non-custodial sentence.
The offence happened three weeks after O'Neill was released on licence from a 10-month sentence imposed for an earlier burglary and a house break-in.
O'Neill said he now wanted to change his ways and added his partner had threatened to leave him if he committed another offence.
