AGM - 27th April 2006.
The AGM of the Birstall and Wanlip Neighbourhood Watch will take place at 7.45pm on Thursday 27th April at the Methodist Church Hall, Wanlip Lane, Birstall.
Our guest speaker will be Nick Loxley, Senior SOCO (Scene of Crime Officer) for the North Police Area.
Our local beat officers, PC Jamie Hughes and CSO Mark Butler will also be in attendance, together with our local LPU commander Insp Chris Alcott.
Usual refreshments will be available.
Everyone is welcome.

Robbery on Wanlip Lane
At approximately 5.00pm on Sunday 16th April a robbery took place at the Mini-Market on Wanlip Lane, Birstall.
The suspect was dressed all in black and was in possession of a knife.
He made off on a pedel cycle along Lambourne Road and may have been heading for Meadow Lane and Watermead Park.

Man assaulted in Birstall.
Police are appealing for information after a 23 yr old man was assaulted in Wanlip Lane close to Riverside Primary School.
The incident happened at approx 12.30 am 0n Friday 31st March. The victim was walking along Wanlip Lane when he was passed by a man running in the same direction, towards Orchard Road. Moments later a second man passed him and pushed him against the school gates before running off in the same direction.
The victim then realised he had been stabbed twice through his coat. He received hospital treatment and was discharged the next day.
Both men were wearing dark hooded tops and blue jeans and ran off towards Wanlip.
Were you in the area of Wanlip Lane at that time ? Did you see either of these men, both in hooded tops, in Birstall during the early hours of Friday morning ?

Over the weekend 31/3/06 - 2/4/06 there have been a number of incidents in the Birstall area. Did you see anything ? Have you heard anything ?

Clarke Grove - Theft from motor vehicle - approx 20.20
St James Court - Theft from motor vehicle - approx - 14.50
