Distraction Burglaries.
There have two incidents of distraction burglaries in the Birstall area over the last week.
Lambourne Road and Oakfield Avenue have been targeted.
In one incident a white male, in his twenties, entered a property without permission and spoke to the elderly resident. When challenged he offered gardening services before leaving. This is being treated as suspicious and has been classed as an attempted distraction burglary.
Please be mindful to treat all unknown callers with suspicion. Request their ID and ensure that all other entrances to the property are secure when speaking to callers.

This message has been given to us today by PC Jamie Hughes.

Burglaries.
We have been informed of two burglaries that took place early on the afternoon of Sunday 7th May in the Bramley Road / Lambourne Road area.
Were you in that area between 1.00pm and 4.30pm. Did you see anyone hanging around or acting suspiciously. There must have been many residents walking or driving in the area at that time of day.
If you have any information at all please report it on (0116) 2222222
