5 distraction burglaries - "Water Board"
During the last twenty-four hours there have been five distraction burglaries in the Leicestershire North area by two men posing as Water Board officials.
They have been to different parts of the homes pretending to turn water on and off.
Two offences have been in Rothley (Town Green Street and another road nearby) also Ashby and Coalville.
There is every likelihood that they will work their way further across our area, so if you can warn any vulnerable people and tell them not to let in anyone posing from the Water Board (or any other people not known to them) until they have checked with the utility company.
Please assure the elderly that it is in order not to open the door and ifthey have done to immediately close it.
