Bogus Callers - Warning.
There have been two recent incidents of Bogus Callers (Distraction Burglars) in the Hinckley and Burbage area. The methods used were to claim they were from the Water Board or the Gas Board, to gain access to the homes of their elderly victims.
Please remember that there is no such thing as the 'Water Board' or the 'Gas Board'. If anyone turns up at your doorstep claiming to be from either of these organisations, close the door and telephone the police immediately on 999. This is a crime in progress.
Please keep an eye on elderly friends, relatives and neighbours and call straight away to report any incidents.

Attempted break-in.
At approximately 3.00pm on Tuesday 9th January, there was an attempted break-in at a house on Loughborough Road (the area opposite Station Road).
Two white males, both wearing high visibility jackets, broke down the front door of the house. Fortunately they were disturbed by a neighbour, who called the police, and it is believed nothing was actually taken.
Were you in the Loughborough Road/Station Road/Hermitage Road area at this time, did you see anything suspicious ? These men probably had a vehicle parked close by, did you notice it ?
If you have any information, please report it on (0116) 2222222
