Scam - Warning.
One of our committee members has received a letter with the following story:-
A person with the same surname has died in Singapore, with no living relatives or will, and suggesting that they can easily claim the estate before it is claimed by the Singapore government. (The amount of money mentioned is in excess of 29 million singapore dollars ! ). There is a telephone number, a fax number and a website referred to.
This is a scam.
It is strongly suspected, that if you responded to this letter, there would be a 'fee' asked for and of course no money would ever be forthcoming. Alternatively, they would ask for your bank account details, and then empty it.
If you receive a similar letter, please report it to the police, but on no account respond in any way.

Burglaries - Blenheim Road
Overnight 2nd / 3rd May two houses were burgled in Blenheim Road. In both cases the properties were insecure.
Did you see or hear anything suspicious during this time/in this area, if so please report it on (0116) 2222222.
Residents are reminded to secure doors and windows when going to bed at night. This is especially easy to forget during the summer and periods of hot weather.
