Supermarket Robbery.
At approximately 5.00pm on Monday 21st January a robbery took place at Somerfields Supermarket on Wanlip Lane.
It is believed that those involved were three males, two of whom were carrying knives. All were dressed in dark clothing and wore balaclavas. The vehicle used was an old style Vauxhall Astra, dark in colour and was parked in St Theresa's car park next door to the supermarket. After the incident, the vehicle was seen to leave along Birstall Road in the direction of Red Hill.
Were you in this busy area of the village around this time? Did you see anything suspicious, either before or following the robbery? Please report any information, however minor , on (0116) 2222222.

SAT-NAV thefts.
There have been a number of incidents recently in the village where SAT-NAV units have been stolen from vehicles. In most cases the units were left on view in the vehicle and in one incident the vehicle was not locked.
Our advice is to always remove these units when not in use and if possible to also remove the mounting bracket.
It is believed that the current spate of thefts is the work of one individual who may be using a cycle to get around the village quickly. If you see anyone acting suspiciously (looking into parked cars etc. or hanging around parked cars), please report it on (0116) 2222222

Yet another of our members has received notification of being a winner in a foreign lottery. The winnings amount to a very large sum of money. All they need to do is send off their bank account details !
Don't be fooled. All that will happen is that your bank account will be emptied by criminals.
If you have not entered a competition/bought a ticket, how can you have won. If you receive one of these notification letters or anything similar, inform the police on (0116) 2222222.
